17 Years of Passion, Service and Impact
Seventeen years ago, four friends sat down for what was supposed to be a casual mid-week catch-up at Café Javas Bombo road. Instead, the conversation kept returning to a single, nagging frustration: the state of customer service in our country. We saw a gap between what customers deserved and what the market provided.
That afternoon, the passion grew too loud to ignore. We made a choice that changed our lives—we resigned from our formal roles to build something that would stand for excellence. We named it Service Cops Limited. The name wasn’t just a brand; it was a badge of accountability. We were going to be the guardians of the service experience.
Our path wasn’t linear. We started with outsourcing, thinking the front line was where the battle was won. But we quickly realized that you cannot provide great service if the underlying systems don’t talk to each other. We saw “islands” of technology—banks, schools, and telecoms all operating in silos while the customer was left stranded in the middle.
So, we pivoted. We decided to become the bridge.
We shifted our focus to Technology, Integration, and Collaboration. We spent years tirelessly convincing partners to see the vision of a connected ecosystem.
Today, that vision is a reality:
- We are keeping children in school through our savings solution; school pay savings enabling parents to save for school fees while earning interest for we believe education is the best investment for our children and our future
- We have created an integrated ecosystem of 30 Commercial Banks, 5 Mobile Network operators, over 30,000 education institutions to make service easier.
- School Pay now facilitates education payments for over 25 million students across our markets of operation.
- Our Agent Banking infrastructure powers over half of the market in Ugandan powers the largest private bank in Ethiopia serving over 13 million customers.
- We have expanded our footprint into the SADC, EAC, and West African markets, reaching a community of over 500 million people.
- We are collaborating with the Centenary bank group to make digital and financial inclusion a reality for Africa through collaborative technology innovations.
- We have made access to education financing for over 12,000 schools a reality through our school pay platform.
While our scale has changed, our “Wednesday afternoon” spirit has not. We are still driven by that same burning desire to serve. As we continue to innovate in education financing, digital wallets, and linkage banking, our goal remains the same: to ensure that every African, regardless of their location, has access to seamless, dignified, and inclusive financial services.
Thank you for being part of our story, supporting us always and for the encouragement.
We are just getting started.
